YOUNG Maidens
INTRODUCING OURYOUNG Maidens Program
For girls ages 7–17 (limited tickets)
This year we have an incredible program devoted to the Young Maidens amongst us. A day camp / supervised-style program for all scheduled Young Maiden offerings, allowing Guardians to enjoy the festival knowing the girls are in safe and caring hands. Mothers/Guardians can sign in and drop off Young Maidens at allocated times throughout the days, often around meal & ceremony times.
Offerings will be primarily held in our NEW Spark Tent, the Young Maidens main hub, with some offerings spread amongst our main stages. Each experience is crafted with love and intention to inspire, educate, and celebrate young maidens as they journey toward womanhood.

ARTFUL INTENTIONS
This gathering invites young maidens to consciously step into their time at Earth Daughters. Through creative journaling and collage, each girl will craft a personal journal to use throughout the experience. As we create together, we’ll share intentions - naming what each girl hopes to explore, grow, or welcome during our days together.
CASTING OUT, CALLING IN
Our closing circle offers a gentle ritual of release and remembrance as the young maidens prepare to journey home. Participants will name what they are ready to leave behind and use the elements to release it. Then, we’ll take time to name and honor what they wish to carry forward, including the creation of a custom herbal tea blend - a tangible reminder of their Earth Daughters intentions.

CONNECTED: FINDING OUR PLACE WITHIN THE WORLD
This youth circle experience will help the Young Maidens connect to themselves and their
unique way of being in the world. The space will allow for conversations around anxieties and
insecurities, as well as an opportunity to shine in sharing what lights them up! We’ll dance, we’ll
sing, and we’ll leave this circle with tools on how to stay connected to our place in this world and
knowing that we can make a difference by being ourselves.
--
This is a workshop for our Young Maidens to help connect to themselves and their unique way
of being in the world. When the doors of the outside world shut, what is it we’re drawn to
creating? Do we love to paint? Dance? Help others? Cook? Garden? Within this space we will
explore how we feel most ourselves so that when we show up in the world, we aren’t
abandoning ourselves and our essence. By showing up as our true selves, we are then able to
connect to peers and create deeper friendships. This youth circle experience will allow for
conversations around anxieties and insecurities, as well as an opportunity to shine in sharing
what lights them up! We’ll dance, we’ll sing, and we’ll leave this circle with tools on how to stay
connected to our place in this world and knowing that we can make a difference by being ourselves.

Traditional Metis Drum Making
-
Traditional Drum making - 5pm Thursday (early arrival offering)
This year will be Lana's 5th year holding traditional drum weaving at the festival. Here, all are welcome to come hear traditional stories and bring their own drum to life. Drums hold sacred meaning in almost all ancient cultures, Canadian Indigenous being one of them. This medicine helped guide ceremony, visions and healing. We respectfully weave these drums in honour of our ancestors and those of who lost this medicine. You will walk away with a beautiful drum to take and share in our own community.
Drum Awakening - Sunday morning
This ceremony is part 2 for all women who make a drum over the weekend. Lana was taught that our drums are the medicine of our ancestors and to use a drum we must hold it with the utmost respect. This ceremony honours the journey, the birth, of that drum. All are welcome to come learn traditional songs and be a part of this drum ceremony.
